Works for Piano Solo, Volume 3 — Anthony Newman

The fantasia and Fugue in C (dedicated to Misha Dicter) is modeled on Bach's G minor organ fantasy and the finale of Mozart's 41st symphony. By modeled I mean formed after the size of sections and the entrances of fugue subjects. The fugue is full of joy throughout. Clair de Lune is meant to be a study on tranquility, like the Clair de Lunes of Debussy and Vierne. The work is in 3 sections, each being a variation of the former, and is very romantic and evocative.
